Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
At Albania For Business Sh.p.k. (“we,” “us,” or “our”), clear communication is one of our core values — and that includes how we talk about privacy. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain terms, what personal data we collect through albania-for-business.com and in the course of our company formation, legal, tax, accounting, licensing, real estate and recruitment/HR services, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
This Policy is a plain-English summary for clients, prospective clients and website visitors. For the full legal detail — including our legal basis for each type of processing, retention periods and international transfer safeguards — please see our Data Protection & Privacy Policy (GDPR Compliance Notice), available alongside this document at albania-for-business.com/policies.
2. Who We Are
Albania For Business Sh.p.k. is the company responsible for your personal data when you use our website or engage us for services. If you have any questions at all about privacy, you can reach us any time at info@albania-for-business.com.
3. What Information We Collect
What we collect depends on how you interact with us:
- If you visit our website: basic technical information (like the pages you view) and, if you accept cookies, some analytics data — see our Cookie Policy for the full picture.
- If you contact us through the enquiry form: your name and the email or phone number and message you provide.
- If you become a client: your identification documents, contact details, company and ownership information, and any documents needed to deliver your engagement (for example, tax registration, licensing or property documents) — including information we’re legally required to collect to verify your identity under anti-money-laundering rules.
- If you apply for a job with us, or with a client through our recruitment service: your CV, contact details and any information you share during the hiring process.
We only ask for what we genuinely need to help you — we don’t collect information “just in case.”
4. How We Use Your Information
| We use your information to… | For example… |
|---|---|
| Deliver the service you’ve asked for | Setting up your company, preparing tax filings, reviewing a lease |
| Meet our legal obligations | Verifying your identity, checking sanctions lists, keeping required records |
| Respond to your enquiry | Replying to a message you send through our website |
| Invoice and get paid | Sending invoices and processing payments |
| Improve our website | Understanding which pages are useful, if you’ve accepted analytics cookies |
| Keep you updated (only if you’ve opted in) | Sharing occasional insights on doing business in Albania |
We never use your information for anything beyond these purposes without telling you first.
5. Who We Share Your Information With
We don’t sell your data, and we don’t hand it over for other companies’ marketing. We do share it, only where necessary, with:
- Albanian authorities we’re legally required to deal with on your behalf, such as the National Business Center (QKB), tax authorities, or the anti-money-laundering authority.
- Other professionals helping deliver your engagement, such as a notary, external accountant, or licensed lawyer — and only the information they need.
- Trusted service providers who help us run our business, such as our website host or email provider, under confidentiality terms.
- Your bank, where we’re coordinating an account opening or payment on your instructions.
6. Cookies
Our website uses cookies to function properly and, if you agree, to help us understand how visitors use the site. You choose which cookies to allow through the banner shown when you first visit. Full details are in our separate Cookie Policy at albania-for-business.com/policies/cookie-policy.
7. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep information only as long as we need it. As a general guide: client and due-diligence records are kept for at least five years after our engagement ends, as required by Albanian anti-money-laundering law; a website enquiry that doesn’t turn into a client relationship is normally kept for up to two years; and unsuccessful job applications are normally kept for up to a year. Full detail is in our Data Protection & Privacy Policy.
8. Keeping Your Information Safe
We limit access to your information to the people who need it to do their job, use reputable and secure service providers, and have a process in place to respond quickly if anything ever goes wrong. If we ever became aware of a data breach affecting you, we would tell you and the relevant authority without unnecessary delay, as required by law.
9. Your Rights
Wherever you’re based, you have the right to ask us:
- What information we hold about you, and to get a copy of it.
- To correct anything that’s inaccurate.
- To delete your information, where we don’t have a legal reason to keep it.
- To limit how we use it, or to object to certain uses.
- To send your information to you, or to someone else, in a portable format.
- To withdraw consent at any time, where we’re relying on your consent (for example, for marketing emails).
To use any of these rights, just email dataprotection@albania-for-business.com — we’ll usually respond within a month. If you’re ever unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you also have the right to complain to the Albanian Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDP), or, if you’re in the EU, your local data protection authority.
10. International Clients
Because we work with clients and partners around the world, your information may sometimes be handled outside Albania — for example, by a service provider based in the EU. When that happens, we make sure it’s protected to a standard that matches this Policy, wherever it’s processed.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy occasionally to reflect changes in how we work or in the law. We’ll update the effective date at the top of this document whenever we do, and let active clients know if a change materially affects them.
12. Get in Touch
If anything in this Policy isn’t clear, or you’d like to exercise any of your rights, we’re happy to help — email info@albania-for-business.com. This Policy works alongside our Cookie Policy, Data Protection & Privacy Policy (GDPR Compliance Notice), AML & CTF Policy and Complaint Handling Policy, all published at albania-for-business.com/policies.
This document is a plain-English companion to the Firm’s full Data Protection & Privacy Policy (GDPR Compliance Notice) and is intended to be published on the public website alongside it. Before publication, management should confirm this summary stays consistent with the detailed policy any time either document is updated, and have both reviewed together by qualified counsel.
