Join the team helping foreign entrepreneurs build in Albania

Albania For Business Sh.p.k. helps foreign entrepreneurs and companies establish and grow in Albania — from company incorporation and legal services through accounting, licensing, real estate and recruitment. We’re growing across all of these areas, and we’re looking for people who want to build genuine expertise across a range of practice areas rather than sit in a narrow specialism at a traditional single-service firm.

If you’re a lawyer, legal consultant, real estate agent, HR specialist, accountant, or work in a related field and want to work with an international client base in a coordinated, multi-disciplinary team, we’d like to hear from you — whether or not a specific opening below matches your background exactly.

Why Work With Us

  • Work across genuinely diverse practice areas — legal, accounting, real estate, licensing and recruitment — rather than a single narrow specialism.
  • An international client base of foreign entrepreneurs and companies, giving you exposure well beyond typical local practice.
  • An English-speaking working environment, with Albanian-language work handled to the same professional standard.
  • A coordinated team structure — your work connects to and is informed by colleagues in other practice areas, not siloed.
  • Competitive compensation matched to role and experience, with room to grow as the firm grows across its service areas.

We’re currently hiring across five areas

Lawyers & Legal Consultants, Real Estate Agents, HR Specialists & Recruiters, Accountants & Bookkeepers, and Company Formation & Compliance Specialists. Full detail on each — what you’d actually be doing, and who we’re looking for — is below.

HR Specialists & Recruiters Recruitment Yes

OPEN ROLE · LEGAL SERVICES TEAM

Lawyers & Legal Consultants

Team: Legal Services
Client-Facing: Yes
Language: English + Albanian
Works Closely With: Accounting, Company Incorporation

You’d join our Legal Services practice, working across some or all of our six practice areas — intellectual property, corporate law, contract law, tax law, compliance, and AML & GDPR. Our clients are almost entirely foreign entrepreneurs and companies entering or operating in Albania, so the role involves translating Albanian legal requirements into clear, practical guidance for people unfamiliar with the local system, not just producing legal documents in isolation. Depending on your background and interest, you might specialise in one or two of these areas or work across several, coordinating with colleagues in accounting, licensing and company formation where matters overlap.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, employment agreements, NDAs and shareholder agreements.
  • Prepare and file trademark and other intellectual property applications with the General Directorate of Industrial Property.
  • Advise on corporate governance matters — share transfers, capital changes, restructuring, and dissolution.
  • Prepare tax opinions and represent clients in dealings and disputes with the Albanian tax authority.
  • Conduct compliance, AML and GDPR assessments for clients across regulated and unregulated sectors, and draft the resulting policies.
  • Coordinate directly with notaries, government authorities and regulators on behalf of clients.
  • Communicate with clients primarily in English, explaining Albanian legal requirements clearly and without unnecessary jargon.
Who We’re Looking For

  • A qualified lawyer admitted to practice in Albania, or a legal consultant with equivalent training and relevant experience.
  • Experience in one or more of: corporate law, contract law, intellectual property, tax law, or compliance/AML.
  • Fluent written and spoken English, in addition to Albanian.
  • Comfortable working directly with foreign clients who have no prior familiarity with the Albanian legal system.
  • Meticulous attention to detail — much of this work is compliance-facing, where a missed detail has real consequences for a client.
  • Prior experience advising foreign-owned companies or handling cross-border matters is a plus, though not required.

OPEN ROLE · REAL ESTATE TEAM

Real Estate Agents

Team: Real Estate
Client-Facing: Yes
Language: English + Albanian
Works Closely With: Legal Services, Incorporation

You’d support clients buying or renting apartments, houses, offices, land, and hospitality property — hotels and restaurants — across Albania. Because most of our clients are foreign and often not physically present for large parts of the process, the role leans more heavily on due diligence, clear remote communication and coordination than a typical local agent role might. You’d work closely with our Legal Services and Company Incorporation teams wherever a transaction touches foreign land-ownership rules, company structuring, or a licensed business acquisition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and shortlist properties matching client requirements across residential, commercial, land and hospitality categories.
  • Coordinate property viewings, and accompany clients in person where they’re able to travel.
  • Support price and lease-term negotiation on behalf of clients.
  • Assist with due diligence coordination — title checks, construction permit legality, boundary verification, and licensing status for commercial or hospitality property.
  • Coordinate with notaries and the Immovable Property Registration Agency to complete transactions and registrations.
  • Maintain and grow a network of relationships with property owners, developers and other agents across the markets you cover.
  • Advise clients — often remote, often unfamiliar with the market — on realistic pricing, location trade-offs and timelines.
Who We’re Looking For

  • Prior experience as a real estate agent or in property transactions in Albania, ideally with foreign or international clients.
  • Strong knowledge of the Tirana market, and ideally at least one coastal or regional market as well.
  • Fluent English.
  • Comfortable managing several concurrent client searches and transactions at different stages.
  • An existing network among property owners, developers, notaries and other agents is a strong plus.
  • A valid driving licence, for coordinating and accompanying property viewings.

OPEN ROLE · RECRUITMENT TEAM

HR Specialists & Recruiters

Team: Recruitment
Client-Facing: Yes
Language: English + Albanian
Works Closely With: Accounting (payroll)

You’d work across our Recruitment service — hiring for general and mid-level roles, running retained executive searches for leadership positions, producing salary benchmarking reports, and managing ongoing payroll & HR administration for client companies. It’s a broader remit than a typical single-function recruiter role: the same person often moves between sourcing a candidate, benchmarking a salary, and later handling that same employee’s contract renewal or offboarding once they’re hired.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, screen and shortlist candidates for client hiring needs across general and specialist roles.
  • Run proactive, sometimes confidential, search processes for senior and executive-level positions.
  • Draft employment contracts compliant with Albanian labour law minimums for each new hire.
  • Produce salary benchmarking reports based on current market data and comparable roles.
  • Manage ongoing HR administration for client companies — leave tracking, policy drafting and maintenance, contract amendments, and offboarding.
  • Coordinate Labour Inspectorate notifications and Employment Service registrations for new hires.
  • Advise clients directly on Albanian labour law requirements and realistic market compensation.
Who We’re Looking For

  • Experience in recruitment, HR administration, or a related field — ideally with some exposure to the Albanian labour market.
  • Familiarity with Albanian labour law, or a genuine willingness to build this expertise quickly.
  • Fluent English.
  • Strong organisational skills, since the role involves managing multiple client searches and ongoing HR accounts concurrently.
  • Good judgment and discretion, particularly for confidential executive searches.
  • Experience with recruitment or HR systems (ATS platforms and similar) is a plus, though not required.

OPEN ROLE · ACCOUNTING TEAM

Accountants & Bookkeepers

Team: Accounting
Client-Facing: Occasional
Language: English + Albanian
Works Closely With: Tax Law, Recruitment

You’d support our Accounting service — monthly bookkeeping, VAT compliance, annual reporting and related filings for a portfolio of client companies, most of them foreign-owned. Beyond the numbers, a meaningful part of the role is explaining Albanian accounting and tax requirements clearly to clients who don’t have a local finance background, and flagging compliance risks before they become filing problems, not after.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain monthly bookkeeping records for a portfolio of client companies.
  • Issue and reconcile invoices through Albania’s e-invoicing (fiscalization) system.
  • Prepare and file VAT returns for VAT-registered clients.
  • Process payroll and manage the associated social and health contribution filings.
  • Prepare annual financial statements and corporate tax returns.
  • Support company liquidation engagements with final accounts and tax deregistration.
  • Proactively flag compliance risks or gaps to clients, rather than only surfacing them at a filing deadline.
Who We’re Looking For

  • A qualified accountant or bookkeeper with experience in Albanian tax and accounting compliance.
  • Familiarity with Albania’s e-invoicing (fiscalization) system.
  • Fluent English in addition to Albanian, sufficient to explain financial matters clearly to foreign clients.
  • Comfortable managing multiple client accounts concurrently, each with its own filing schedule and VAT status.
  • Experience with standard accounting software; the specific systems used vary by client.
  • High attention to detail — errors in filings carry real financial and compliance consequences for clients.

OPEN ROLE · INCORPORATION & LICENSING TEAM

Company Formation & Compliance Specialists

Team: Incorporation & Licensing
Client-Facing: Occasional
Language: English + Albanian
Works Closely With: Legal Services, Accounting

You’d work across our Company Incorporation and Licensing services — registering new companies, filing sector-specific licence applications, and supporting clients through ongoing regulatory compliance. This role covers a wide regulatory range, from a straightforward company registration with the National Business Center (QKB) to a multi-month licence application with a sector regulator like AFSA or the National Gambling Authority, so strong organisation across very different timelines matters as much as regulatory knowledge itself.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file company registration applications with the National Business Center (QKB).
  • Draft and file sector-specific licensing applications — crypto, forex, gambling, transport, taxi, alcohol or pharma, depending on the client.
  • Liaise directly with regulators throughout the application and review process, responding to information requests.
  • Coordinate post-registration compliance setup — legal address, tax registration, UBO declarations, e-Albania portal activation.
  • Support ongoing licence compliance and renewal for clients already holding a licence.
  • Track application timelines and regulatory requirements across multiple concurrent client engagements.
  • Stay current on regulatory changes across the sectors we support, and flag anything relevant to existing client engagements.
Who We’re Looking For

  • Experience with Albanian company registration and/or regulatory licensing processes.
  • Familiarity with QKB procedures, and ideally some exposure to at least one sector-specific regulator.
  • Fluent English.
  • Strong organisational skills — tracking multiple applications and regulatory deadlines concurrently, some resolved in days and others taking months.
  • Comfort navigating regulatory processes that vary significantly in complexity and timeline depending on the sector.
  • A legal, compliance or paralegal background is a plus, though not required.

Frequently Asked Questions — Careers

Yes — we review every application we receive, whether or not it matches a specific listed role. If there’s no immediate fit, we keep strong applications on file for future openings.

It depends on the role — client-facing and some coordination roles benefit from being in-office, while other work can be handled remotely or hybrid. We discuss this specifically during the interview process for each role.

Typically an initial call to discuss your background and the role, followed by a more in-depth interview relevant to the specific position — a case discussion for legal roles, a scenario walkthrough for client-facing roles, and so on.

We consider this case by case depending on the role and candidate — reach out with your specific situation and we’ll let you know what’s realistic.

It depends on the role. Client-facing work is conducted primarily in English, but some roles — particularly those involving direct filings, notary coordination or government liaison — benefit from or require Albanian fluency. We specify this for each role.

This depends on the specific practice area — a qualified, licensed lawyer for advisory and representation work, though some legal-adjacent roles (paralegal-style support, contract administration) have more flexible requirements. We clarify this for each specific opening.

Yes — if you’re a genuine fit for more than one area, mention this in your cover note and we’ll consider you across the relevant roles rather than forcing a single application.

It varies by role and how many candidates we’re considering, but we aim to move through the process without unnecessary delay and to give every candidate a clear answer, positive or not.
