Remote Company Formation by Power of Attorney
Incorporate your Albanian Sh.p.k. without traveling — a notarised power of attorney lets our team complete registration, tax setup and document handling entirely on your behalf.
Registration Is Remote — Banking Is the One Exception
Company registration in Albania can be completed almost entirely without travel. Once a power of attorney is properly notarised — and apostilled or consular-legalised, depending on your country — your representative can reserve the company name, sign the Articles of Association, file with the National Business Center (QKB), and obtain both the registration certificate and the NIPT (tax identification number) on your behalf.
The one consistent exception across Albanian banking practice is the corporate bank account: banks generally require the company’s legal representative to appear in person at least once for identification and KYC (Know Your Customer) purposes, in line with standard Albanian banking procedure. After that single visit, the account can typically be operated remotely. This is the single most important planning point for a fully remote setup, and we confirm it with your chosen bank before starting the engagement.

What the Power of Attorney Covers
A properly scoped POA authorises your representative to act only within a defined, listed set of steps:
- Reserving and confirming the company name with the QKB.
- Signing the Articles of Association and incorporation forms on your behalf.
- Filing the registration application and supporting documents with the QKB.
- Receiving the registration certificate and NIPT.
- Submitting the beneficial owner (UBO) declaration.
- Coordinating VAT and, where applicable, payroll registration.
- Submitting preparatory documents to the bank ahead of your in-person account-opening visit.
The POA should always be limited in scope, time-limited, and revocable at any time.
How the Remote Process Works
POA drafting & client information
Sign & notarise locally, then apostille/legalise
Courier & certified translation into Albanian
QKB filing — registration & NIPT issued
UBO declaration & tax registration
One in-person visit to activate the bank account
Typical timeline: 1–2 weeks from signing the POA to a registered, tax-active company, depending on notarial and apostille processing speed in your home country. Registration at the QKB itself is usually completed within a few business days of a complete file being submitted.
Documents Required
- Passport copies of all shareholders and the appointed administrator.
- A notarised power of attorney, apostilled (Hague Convention countries) or consular-legalised (non-Hague countries).
- Proposed company name(s), in order of preference.
- Completed company registration information form (we prepare this for your signature).
- Certified Albanian translation of the POA and any foreign-issued corporate documents.

Foreign e-money accounts such as Revolut or Wise are not generally recognised as a standard banking option for an Albanian company’s core operations, and are best used only as a supplementary account. Albanian tax authorities may request statements from a locally recognised bank during tax reviews, so we recommend budgeting for one in-person visit to open a proper Albanian corporate account, even if every other step is handled remotely.
